Jerry's obituary
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Jerry Shaver, who was born on July 20, 1946, and peacefully left us on February 25, 2025. Jerry was an adored family man, sports enthusiast, and a lover of all beaches, known for his witty character and exceptional memory.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Lynda Shaver, who stood by his side through all the adventures life presented. He is also remembered by his sons, Rick, Brian, and Kicker Shaver, and his daughter, Leah Montez, who will carry forward his zest for life. His step-children, Scott Fishbein and Mindy Fishbein, remember Jerry as a nurturing figure whose guidance remained with them throughout their lives.
Jerry was cherished by his siblings – his sister, Norma Shaver-Rosette, brother, Bobby Shaver, and sister, Beverly Yeakley. They share a multitude of fond memories featuring Jerry's quick wit and infectious laughter. He was predeceased by his loving parents, RV Shaver and Jewel Irwin, and his dear sister, June Shaver.
An ardent sports fan, Jerry loved cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans. He found great joy in men’s softball, often being the heart of the team, and fishing, where he found serenity and purpose. His love for nature was evident in his choice of vacation spots – any beach where he could feel the sand between his toes and the ocean breeze on his face.
As we bid farewell to Jerry, we celebrate a life well-lived, of a man who touched the lives of many with his memory and humor. His presence will be missed, but his legacy will continue to live on in all who were fortunate to have known him.
