Jerry's obituary

In Fond Remembrance of Jerry Haynes Sr.

It is with deep regret and a heavy heart that we announce the serene passing of Jerry Haynes Sr., a cherished member of our lives, who departed from this world on December 1st, 2023, in St. Charles, Missouri. Jerry's departure leaves a void that is impossible to fill, and his memory will be forever treasured by all those fortunate enough to have known him.

Born on October 17th, 1949, in Kentucky, Jerry Haynes Sr. was more than a boyfriend to our mom; he was a devoted partner, confidant, and friend. His love and care enriched our family, and his memory will forever be etched in our hearts.

Jerry spent 30 dedicated years at Komatsu and over a decade at Caterpillar, contributing tirelessly before embracing retirement. Not one to slow down, he embarked on a new chapter, spending a fulfilling decade at Quail Meadows Country Club in East Peoria, IL. Jerry's journey led him to various corners of the country, with his final home in Washington, IL. His faith was nurtured at Peoria Heights Congregational Church.

Jerry Haynes Sr. brought joy, warmth, and kindness into our lives. His genuine affection and unwavering support for our mom were evident in every smile, gesture, and shared moment. Whether celebrating special occasions or navigating life's challenges, Jerry stood by our family with steadfast commitment.

A man of diverse passions, Jerry found fulfillment in golfing, camping, fishing, painting, playing pool and working out. His contagious enthusiasm and love for life created beautiful memories that will forever resonate with our family.

In addition to being a loving partner, Jerry displayed remarkable strength and resilience. Even in the face of difficulties, he maintained a positive spirit that uplifted everyone around him. His legacy will continue to inspire us to face life's challenges with courage and grace.

Jerry Haynes Sr. is survived by our dear mom, Shirley Baumann, and those who cherished him dearly. His immediate family includes son Jerry Haynes Jr., grandchildren Jerry Haynes III, Amanda, and Samantha. He is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Mae Haynes, father Paul Leroy Haynes, wife Mary Haynes, sister Polly Sue Taylor, brothers Gary Haynes and Perry Gene Haynes. He is also survived by sister Joanne Lyons, brothers Terry Haynes, Paul Douglas Haynes, Larry Haynes, sister Sandra Faye Haynes, sister Paula Katie Haynes, sister Vicki Lynn Haynes, and sister Donna Wheeler. Jerry leaves behind six great-grandchildren.

While the void left by his passing is profound, we find solace in the cherished memories of the love and happiness Jerry shared with us.
