With heavy hearts, we gather to remember and honor the life of Jerome Thompson, born on October 27, 1967, in Liberty, Mississippi. He was a beloved son of Lillie and Nathaniel Thompson. After a life well lived, Jerome passed away on August 25, leaving behind a legacy that will forever echo in our hearts.
Jerome's journey was marked by milestones that spoke of his dedication and spirit. In 1985, he proudly received his diploma from Liberty High School (Bobcats), a stepping stone to the remarkable life he would lead.
Jerome's pursuit of knowledge led him to achieve a college degree in Diesel Engineering from Southwest Community College in 1987. This achievement mirrored his lifelong dedication to learning and growth.
Professionally, Jerome's path led him from Mississippi to Minnesota, where he contributed his talents to US Bank. Later, his journey found its home at Wells Fargo, where he thrived for 23 years. Throughout his tenure, he held vital roles, including Client Services Consultant and Lead Securities Operations Representative. His dedication and expertise left an indelible mark on his colleagues and the industry.
Jerome married the love of his life in August 2006. Jerome and Kimberly together shared a life that was a testament to commitment and companionship. Through thick and thin, they stood as pillars of strength for each other.
A brother to Jacqueline Thompson Royal, Stacey Thompson Bazanac (Barry), & Nathaniel Thompson Jr. (Tremiese), Jerome's bonds with his siblings were strong and enduring.
His role as a father was his true joy, and his daughter, Jericia Thompson, was the embodiment of his pride and love.
Jerome’s love embraced beyond his immediate family, reaching his sister-in-laws Tammy Totzke (John) and Pamela Mullock (Jaime).
Jerome's legacy extended to his two cherished grandchildren Kamiha Nelson and Rylie Mays, a testament to the depth of his family's roots. His wisdom and warmth also embraced his nieces and nephews: Casera Mullock, Robert Baldwin Jr., Byron Baldwin, Taylor Byrd, Alyssa Totzke, Anna Totzke, Mckenna Mullock, Grady Mullock, Kellan Mullock. His love extended to his great-nephews Lance Panka and Oliver Baldwin and great-niece Trinity Byrd as well. Additionally, his faithful companion Brisket, a loyal puppy, shared in his journey, offering unwavering companionship and joy.
Beyond his professional life, Jerome found joy in the simple pleasures. He was a movie buff, finding solace and inspiration in the stories that unfolded on the silver screen. His appreciation for music was deep-rooted, and he held the title of a true connoisseur, finding melody in every note. As an avid food enthusiast, he embraced the role of a novice food critic, relishing in the flavors and textures that life had to offer.
Jerome's kindness and compassion extended to all corners of his life. Touching the lives of his in-laws, many aunts & uncles, cousins, friends, neighbors, and associates. His warm spirit touched the lives of those fortunate enough to cross his path. His capacity to make people feel valued and adored left a permanent mark on the hearts of those he knew.
Though Jerome is no longer with us, may the memories he created, the love he shared, and the impact he made continue to thrive in the hearts of all who knew him. May we carry his legacy forward with love, kindness, and gratitude.
