In loving memory, we announce the peaceful passing of Jeritz "JJ" Jones Jr on January 10, 2024, three days short of his 33rd birthday. Jeritz was born January 13, 1991 in Shands UF of Gainesville FL to Trelane Jackson (Mother) and Jeritz Jones Sr (father). Jeritz, or JJ whom most knew him by , lived a life full of love and connection. JJ was strong minded and very intelligent who has the heart of a lion. His sons were his world and protecting his family was something he lived by. JJ's life was a testament to strength, resilience, and love. A beloved Son, Father, Brother, Uncle, and so much more. We mourn the loss of JJ, but also celebrate his vibrant life. His spirit will forever live in our hearts.

Jeritz will be forever cherished by his mother Trelane Jackson; his two sons Tremarion Jones and Jeritz Jones 3rd; three sisters, LaJade Evans, Brianna Scott, and Amari Scott; three brother Alexander Evans, Tyjahree Edwards, and Rick Green. His uncle, Willie Battles; a host of nieces and nephews, his extended family, and a community of friends who loved him. Jeritz is proceeded in death by his grandmother Mary E. Jackson Goss; his grandfather Clifford Goss and Clyde Jackson; his Father Jeritz M. Jones Sr. Uncles Robert Jackson and Leroy Jackson. May his soul rest in peace as we all remember his heart-warming smile and caring nature.

Your life was a blessing, the memories I’ll cherish. Your wings were ready but my heart wasn’t. You were and still is loved beyond word and missed beyond measures. You were my older brother, my protector and best friend. You shield me from harm and wiped away my tears. I don’t know or understand why God needed you so soon but I know you’re resting peacefully in his arms. So take your rest. I got the family from him. Your sons are going to continue to live the life you dreamed for them to have and I’ll wipe all momma’s tears away. I’ll even stay on her to make sure she’s taking good care of herself. I love you big brother always and forever. Until we meet again
