I met Spiess a little over 10…
2021, Saginaw, TX, USA
I met Spiess a little over 10 years ago, but I heard all about him prior to meeting him. Most of my Jeremy’s (Link) stories about his early days in the Army centered around Spiess, their friendship, and their shenanigans. After the Jeremies reconnected (thanks to Spiess!) and I met him, my first impression of Spiess was that he was warm and welcoming. He gave me a huge hug immediately, simply because I was Link’s wife so that meant we were instant friends, too. He launched straight into talking about his memories and telling stories - a true talent of his. Spiess loved sharing stories about Army days, his travel, firefighting, meeting Lisa and their life together, his girls…and so much more. He talked about Lisa and his love for her. He was clearly proud of her and felt fortunate to be her husband. Over visits and our awesome camping trip I got to know him more. I really enjoyed his sense of humor. He loved Lily and Ember fiercely and enjoyed being their dad. I remember him talking about his love of hearing them call him Papa. My deepest sympathy to Lisa, Lily, Ember, and all of Jeremy’s loved ones. Spiess (your Jeremy) was loved and is missed by the Link family. -Misty
