Geoffrey, Brenda and Trevor,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I hope you find peace in the memories and know that Jeremy will always be with you in spirit. Pam M.
I remember so many many things that Jeremy was a part of in our childhoods. Most of all-that he was Geoffrey’s little brother and by extension, all of ours as well. I remember the duo of Geoffrey and Jeremy always together as kids and it did not surprise me that they had a loving relationship as adults. I remember Brenda practicing saying Je-re-my with me. Jeremy…. Not Jermy. I wish I had known him better as an adult. I really hate speaking in past tense because it doesn’t seem real/ right. But I knew him as kind. Quiet, but 100% in-on-it-all and likely paying more attention than any of us other blabber mouths. He was curious. Witty. Oh so witty. I consistently remember him making Geoffrey laugh with that wit (and Geoffrey’s), as if caught up in a private conversation that only the two of them were in on (they totally were, Ha.). Oh that Hanover Park in the 70's and 80's experience... and Jeremy being one of the gang, everyone out and about and free but safe— well, except for the bottle rocket wars and unattended lighting of fireworks--, Running bases, baseball, kick the can, football, playing HORSE when Brian got a basketball net, singing that Rob Base song word for word, recalling SNL skits that we’d 'heard' about, playing Star Wars (pretty sure Sharon has a recording of us somewhere), watching Purple Rain together when we were 'sent away' from our Dad's joint 40th birthday party (there was a belly dancer, gasp!), climbing that sticky tree in the cul-de-sac, playing in anyone’s yard or in the street, forts, candy runs to Walgreens/ Dominick's, Pizza at the same plaza before it was Little Caesars.. I remember Jeremy once  accidentally killed a bee in his bare hands and didn’t get stung, surprising himself and me (+one other?) in awe and wonder of his cool move. Yep. Right by the corner of the cul-de-sac and the street- Smith Corner- at the bush with the little blue berries. I fell out of that willow tree that was in the intersection of Smith/ Domenech/ McCurdy property, flat onto my back. I lost my breath and could not speak. Scared the bejeebus out of Jeremy by the look on his face. He was the one who went for help. Kind, concerned kid. I like remembering and knowing him in that part of his life. A lot of good memories that he was a part of from back then. My heart hurts knowing he suffered from such an awful monster of a disease, while having a soul so sweet that he was tearful after his visit with the Roenna boys. If I could do anything for him, I would take away all of any stupid shame and remind him that none of us give a shit about that stuff and we loved him/ love him, unconditionally, like the innocent-ish kids we were when we we grew up together.  Jeremy will forever be remembered fondly by this crew. Rest in Peace and love, little brother. My love and support to you, Trevor, Brenda, and Geoffrey, and Brody and Murphy. - Kristin McCurdy

I watched Jeremy and Geoffrey argue about who was faster while watching football on a Sunday afternoon. They decided to settle it with a foot race around the block. I don't remember who won but I think the best part of this memory is imagining Jeremy and Geoffrey run around the block for the glory of being the fastest - they were in their 30s.

I first met Jeremy and his brother Geoffrey when we moved to Hanover Park in the late 70’s. There were 6 or 7 other families with kids similar in age on the block and we all shared our lives together. We would play street ball with left field as automatic home run, cloak and dagger games in backyards, fort building in the cornfields, kick the can after dark, and cooling off at the neighborhood swimming pool. We lived in the center house of the cul-de-sac that seemed liked the center of the universe. Unfortunately, this time was short lived as my family moved away just before high school. However, an unexpected surprise occurred 30 years later when I ran into Jeremy at VOP. We talked about our lives since and reminisced about our childhoods. It was a great joy to see Jeremy once again after all those years. The time we spent together along with the other families on that street will continually be an epic moment in time for me. My thoughts, my prayers, and my heart are shared with his family.
