Jerald Anthony Kahut, Jerry to anyone who knew him, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 18, 2024 after a prolonged illness. Jerry was born to Albert Kahut and Emma (Orazio) Kahut on April 19, 1943. He was born in Portland, Oregon. He was the middle sibling of the Kahut Clan, following Linda and Fred, then welcoming his little brothers Jim and Don. He grew up attending grade school at Ascension Catholic School and finishing at Central Catholic High School(1961). He met his future wife, Kathleen Cleary, on a blind date. They were married almost 55 years. They had four children, Heather, Mike, Beth, and Nicole. From those children he gained spouses, Damien, Caroline, Keith, and Steve. He also gained, his great joy, eight grandchildren: Isaiah, Emma, Merci, Brook, Ella, Caleb, Macy, and Paige. This year he also gained two new grandchildren’s spouses: Jennie and Katie. A lifelong Catholic, passionate about his faith, he exemplified his beliefs and passed them on to his family through action and reflection. Jerry was a successful businessman and community leader. Most importantly, Jerry was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2024 at St. John the Apostle, Oregon City. Rosary at 10:30 a.m. Reception will follow mass. The funeral mass will be live streamed on the parish website.
