Jenny and I met 22 years ago when we first started working together. What began as a friendly co-worker relationship grew into a lifelong friendship. She first introduced me to scrapbooking and was so patient—always offering suggestions and showing me how to use all those crazy craft tools. Telling me my pages looked good, when I knew they were awful! She knew when to be encouraging and when I needed to hear the truth, no matter how hard it may be. She was my sounding board and my voice of reason; whether it was about a life decision or what color paper to use, she was there with me, every step of the way.
We also bonded over our love for our dogs. I was with Jenny the night she met Chloe for the first time— Chloe loved Jenny from the start! Before long, Jenny (and Chloe) and I (and Emmy) became part of Best Friends Pet Therapy, where we had the opportunity to volunteer together.
I have so many wonderful memories—scrapbook retreats, 80s rock concerts, morning chats, lunches, dinners, shopping trips, and everything in between.
Jenny was not just my friend—she was my family. And in the words of another one of our friends, “everyone needs a Jenny.”~Susan
