Jen's obituary
Jennifer L. Spahr, 50 of York, PA died at Hospice and Community Care of Mount Joy on May 21, 2023.
Born October 20, 1972 in York, PA, she was the daughter of Victor J. Spahr of Cambridge, MD and the late Barbara C. (Aschenbach) Heindel.
Jen was a 1990 graduate of Red Lion High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Special Education and Spanish from York College in 2012. She retired as a Special Education Teacher from Central York Middle School. Because of her passion for working in Special Education, Jen wrote the Leading Change curriculum for emotional support students in collaboration with Leg-Up Farm. Jen was known for her endearing off-key singing, being an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, and for her love of games, especially Five Crowns. She also looked forward to her times spent with family, most recently on their annual trips to Smith Mountain Lake, VA, and Cambridge, MD. Jen’s mantra was “be kind,” which is reflected in her many friendships from all over the world and all walks of life.
In addition to her father, Jen is also survived by two brothers, Todd M. Spahr and his wife Susan of York, PA, and Christopher J. Spahr and his wife Melanie of Richmond, VA; a sister, Meghan Smith and her husband Kyle of York, PA, two nieces, and five nephews.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at LCBC York, 951 N. Hills Road, York, PA 17402. A visitation will be held at the church, one hour prior to the service.
