Thinking about you especially today Jenny girl. What an honor to be there at your first breath and sadly, at your last breath. I love you so much. The love we shared has to last me till I see you again. Then I can try counting your freckles again and hold your hand. I'm trying to be strong and do the things you loved to do. You have wonderful friends & family. Till then...mamasita

Something weird was going on …
2017, Seattle
Something weird was going on with her phone, which made it tough to coordinate. We made some vague plans about a time and place to meet at a bar near my house, but neither of us had much faith in such old school arrangements. Against all odds, we magically crossed paths in this crosswalk. What a gal!

Jen and I loved to trade city / country visits and she was so game for any activity in either place! Here’s one of our apple picking jaunts

I've been thinking about Jen today. We were coworkers at Huron in 2015 and reconnected as New Yorkers in 2018. We were both new to the city and would meet up once a month or so to explore some part of it. I remember afternoons at MOMA PS1, Red Hook, and Green-Wood cemetery in Brooklyn; getting coffee at an old diner in Park Slope and trying a famous 'Cronut' before walking around the Village. I went to parties she threw at her apartment. We fell out of touch for a bit, but reconnected in 2021. Our lives had changed a lot in the meantime, and by then I'd moved out of the city so we'd talk on the phone. What I remember most about Jen - during our rambles around New York or talks over the phone later on - is how great she was to talk to. We could talk about work, philosophy, relationships, anything. The light and the dark. And in both good and tough times, talking to Jen felt good. I felt like I came away from the conversation richer. I was always struck by how "together" Jen seemed; how wise. But then she was also fun and spontaneous and more daring than I was too. I miss her. And I'm so grateful for all of those great talks.
