Our beloved Jennie Rae Surratt Clayton entered into God’s Kingdom on November 7, 2022.

Jennie was born to Nell Surratt on September 11, 1946 in Joanna, SC. When Jennie was younger, her favorite activities were music and church. She attended Lander University and graduated with a degree in Music Education. After graduating, she began teaching in McCormick Schools.

In 1967, Jennie met Joseph, a match truly made in heaven. Jennie & Joseph were married on February 1968 and went on to have two children, Ann Marie and Allen. As a pastor's wife to six churches, Jennie was a loyal servant to God, first and foremost. She loved the church as a pastor's wife for many years, and loved sharing the love and warmth of our savior, Jesus Christ, with as many people as possible. She was the church pianist, Sunday School teacher, and an avid member of Cherokee Falls Baptist Church.

Jennie joins her father, mother, and two sisters, in Heaven. She is survived by many loving family members, including her husband, Joseph A. Clayton, Sr., daughter, Ann Marie Robinson (Glenn); son, Joseph "Allen" Clayton, Jr. (Tammy); grandchildren - Bethany Clayton Lake, Lauren Wells, Julia Wells, Bailey Clayton, Brandon Wells, and great grandson, Mayson Lake.

Visitation (10 a.m.) and Services (11 a.m.) will be Saturday, November 12, 2022 at First Baptist Church, Blacksburg, SC 29702
