Jem's obituary

Jem Pitts, 47, of Little Rock, AR, passed away on November 21, 2022 after an unexpected car crash.

The service will be held on Saturday, November 26th, at Water’s Temple Baptist Church, Little Rock, AR. Please send all flowers and condolences to that address.

Jem was born on May 15th, 1975, to Mila and Jon Lucus in North Little Rock, Arkansas. After graduating from Little Rock Central High School in ‘96, she went on to study Accounting at Pulaski Tech. After graduation, she landed her first job in IT for Avery Dennison for 15 years. In ‘98, she met Derrick Pitts and they wed in ‘99, going on to have 4 children, Cedric, Joslyn, Jamon, and Cece. When Jem had Cedric, her firstborn, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Jem excelled at propping up her younger brothers and sisters, being the oldest of 6, husband, and children, and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Whether that was supporting Derrick to get his GED, or being there for her youngest, Cece, through her dancing classes, she made it her mission to improve the lives of others.

Jem was a passionate server of people and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she would be out traveling the world serving the homeless and less fortunate whenever she could. We will miss her greatly.

Jem was predeceased by her grandmother and mother. She is survived by her children, siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
