Jeffrey's obituary

We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Jeffrey Howard Nagler. Jeffrey died peacefully in his home in Santa Monica, California on September 28, 2022 at the age of 74.

Jeffrey was born in New York City and raised in Brooklyn. He attended Midwood High School and went on to Brooklyn College where he earned a BA, followed by an MA in Radio and Television.

After graduating Jeffrey moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in television. He worked for Goodson-Todman Productions on such shows as Family Feud, Password, and Match Game. He went on to work as an Associate Director on sitcoms such as Family Matters and Frasier.

In 1979 met the love of his life, Enid Karpel, in Athens, Greece. It was love at first sight and the two island hopped around Greece the next two weeks before getting married the next year in 1980. And he had two children, Jason Jordan and Rachel Beth.

Jeff had a sharp and sarcastic wit. He was passionate about his family, and enjoyed working out, swimming, watching sports, and collecting sports memorabilia. He loved the comedy of Abbott and Costello, Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld, and the Three Stooges.

He was a loving, giving and devoted father to his children Jason (Juliette) and Rachel (Taku) Yamazaki. He was a supportive brother to his sisters Penny (Mark) Abramowitz and Ellie, and his brother, Stephen. He was a loving grandfather to Julie Enid and Nash Brady and a joyful uncle to Robert (Sheree) Abramowitz. He was great uncle to Seth Harvey Abramowitz.

He was pre-deceased by Enid Nagler, his wife of 27 years.

There will be a burial at Eden Memorial Park in Mission Hills, California on Sunday, October 2nd at 2pm.

Donations in his memory can be made to the Valley Fever Institute or National Breast Cancer Coalition.
