Background
Jeff was diagnosed in October of 2020 with stage 4 colorectal cancer. He was immediately let go from his job and we were not thinking enough to ask about his life insurance. We tried after the fact to get different life insurance but no one would insure him. It took almost a year for him to get approved for disability but he was not approved for Medicaid nor medicare because they said we made too much by $16.00. His mom agreed to pay for his final expenses and we had no reason to not believe her. Well, Jeff passed away on January 11th, 2024 and when I gave her the information for the funeral home she denied that she promised him and then blocked me on everything. I am at risk of losing my home because I have taken off so much work over the last few months and fell behind on bills. I just need to be able to pick him up and have him with me so that our five kids and I can have some peace.
