Jeffrey's obituary
In Loving Memory of Jeffrey Michael Glenn
September 29, 1974 – June 17, 2025
It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Jeffrey Michael Glenn, who left us on the morning of June 17, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 50. Jeff had been privately and courageously battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer for the past three months. His passing came far too soon, and the loss is deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
Born on September 29, 1974, in Springfield, Illinois, Jeff grew up with a strong spirit and an even stronger heart. He was a man of unwavering conviction, endless curiosity, and a deep love for life’s simple pleasures. He experienced a troubled childhood and carried many of those challenges into adulthood. Life wasn’t always easy for Jeff, and he faced his share of personal struggles. Despite this, he worked hard to build a life rooted in honest work and strong principles. He was fiercely independent and quietly resilient.
Jeff had a passion for craftsmanship and spent much of his life working as a dedicated member of the carpenters union, where he took pride in building, designing, and perfecting every project he touched. He had a sharp mind—especially when it came to working with his hands—and a fascination with the mechanics of the world, particularly cars and airplanes. He could sit by the runway for hours watching planes take off and land. Jeff would often get lost in the details of an engine or the structure of a building—things he could shape and control with care and precision.
Above all, Jeff’s proudest role in life was that of a father. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Kayla Ellingwood, who was his greatest joy and unwavering source of pride. Their relationship was complicated, and though they were not always close, she remained a meaningful and constant presence in his life. Their bond—though imperfect—held moments of connection, shared history, and mutual understanding in later years. Her presence and strength during his illness were a comfort, and her love, despite all, endures as part of his story. Jeff’s legacy lives on through her.
He is also survived by his loving mother, Pamela Glenn Downes.
There will be 2 separate memorials for those in Nevada and Illinois.

For Las Vegas friends and family, there will be a Church service on August 23rd at Central Church - Henderson. 1001 New Beginnings Dr., Henderson, NV 89011
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a cancer foundation of your choice in Jeff’s name.
Jeffrey M. Glenn was a man shaped by hardship, but also driven by a quiet determination and the strength to keep going. His story wasn’t perfect, but it was real. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, deep thought, enduring passion, and the complexity that comes with a life fully lived. His absence leaves a space no one else can fill, but his spirit will remain with us always—in every project finished, every engine started, and every memory shared.
