Jeffrey's obituary
Jeffrey M. Freeman, 66, passed peacefully in his sleep on March 10, 2024 at his home in Arkansaw, WI.
Jeff was an avid artist. He had an eye for capturing the beauty of nature in photographs, drawings and paintings. He was a book illustrator, and was thrilled to share his illustrations with his beloved grandchildren, Effie and Henry.
Jeff was a decorated US Army Veteran, serving more than 14 years in the Infantry with several tours overseas. He was most proud of his time as a soldier in the 101st Airborne Division and often told stories of his military endeavors to those closest to him. He was proud to have served his country and was even more so when his son, Danny, followed in his footsteps.
Jeff was preceded in death by his mom, Ophelia Webb, dad, Valjean Freeman, and sisters, Jere Lynn Cookson and Jennifer Williams. He is survived by his sister Janis Bilbe, son, Danny Schnacky (Jaimie), grandchildren, Effie and Henry, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. Jeff was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, friend, and neighbor and he will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made to help cover expenses accrued in his unexpected passing.
Visitation will be held from 9am-11am on Wednesday, March 20th at the American Legion Post 121 in River Falls, WI. Coffee and light snacks will be provided. A funeral service will follow from 11-11:30am. Address: 701 N Main St, River Falls, WI 54022
Military honors and interment will occur at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, following the service.
