Jeff was more than a friend he was an incredible friend and roommate. He loved the outdoors and being in it. He had a fun sense of adventure like our weekend Tahiti raft trips, or cross country ski trips. Everyone wanted to hang out with him so the house was always packed with friends. He was very artistic and liked screen printing and sand blasting. Loved the yard and he was always doing something to make it look good. Basically a great guy and me and my family will surely miss him.

I am so terribly sorry to hear of the passing of your Brother. Jeff's sense of humor and kind heart was such a real part of him. I loved this entire family (Grace, Beverly, Mark and Jeff) and my deepest condolences are felt...

I am sorry about the loss in the lives of many people. Jeff was one of a kind. He had a sense of humor that topped a lot of the Little Butte Mountain Men (and those men had great tales). I've known Jeff since about 1983, when he was but a child and I was pushing 30. Jeff always had a smile on even when he wasn't happy. His smile was contagious. I haven't been in contact with many people of LBMM since I moved to Idaho. My heart goes out to the Saltmarsh Clan, especially his brother Mark.
Jeff made the best beef jerky EVER!
Please watch over your Clan as they mourn for their loss of you.

A true renaissance man. I was always in awe of the artistry and skill with which Jeff not only cut meat, but put together meat and cheese trays, photographed, gardened, etc. I wish I could have told him how much I watched him and took from him. As an addition to the family in my late teens, he was by far one of the most welcoming people, always willing to teach, mentor and just to talk. Almost all of my ability to cut meat comes from watching and learning from him. Jeff always seemed in "awe" of things. Beauty in nature, trees, cool gear, interesting processes, etc... What a neat man. You will be sorely missed, Jeff!

Mark, Tammy & Saltmarsh Clan, my most sincere condolences. You’re all family to me and I’ve lost my little brother (well, not so little). I’ll try to pick out one of a gazillion times that I cherish having spent with Jeff and post at a later date. Miss ya Jeff ❣️
Love to you all and prayers for strength to get through this difficult time.

For several years during high school, Jeff would cut meat down in my dads shop every evening. And almost every evening I’d head down to the shop and hang out with Jeff, Tammy, and others and listened and told story’s all evening. Jeff knew I was a dumbass teenager that was bound to get my self into situations and predicaments on a regular basis and one Thursday night he said, “if you ever get into a situation and need help, you can always call me. It doesn’t matter what time, or where, or what it is, I’ll come help you”. Fast forward to Friday night/Saturday morning, my dumbass threw the spare tire out of the back of my truck so I’d have more room to haul more pallets up to Anderson butte for the kegger. So around 2:00am were the last ones there and I get in the truck to leave and I have a flat tire. I tried calling friends to no avail. I called Jeff and he answered the call as he said he would. I remember him showing up with the (wrong) spare tire and saying “Christ gator, I didn’t think when I told you call me if you ever need help it’d be the next day”! Lol. Long story short, it was a compound cluster that lasted well into the morning. We laughed about and told that story for years. I loved that guy, we was a great friend and cousin I’ll miss you alot Jeff. I can’t wait to see your smile and hear you’re laugh again.
