As it’s been a year since Jeanne’s passing, I can’t help but remember the time I spent with her and all the fond memories. I met Jeanne when she was in her early stages of Alzheimer’s and helped with companion care. We slowly formed a close relationship over the almost 2 year period I was with her.

I was impressed by Jeanne’s strong will, desire to help others and fierce independence. She was intelligent, not afraid to speak her mind and loved her family more than anything. I quickly learned that Jeanne was well liked by those in her community. I used to tease her that I was “hanging out with a celebrity” as people recognized her and stopped to say hello, almost everywhere we went. It was truly amazing. I miss her dry sense of humor and her many stories about growing up in Minnesota.

Her family felt like my second family as Don,  Amanda, and Ashley along with their spouses and children, were present in our conversations everyday. My heart goes out to Don and Amanda on this anniversary for the incredible losses they have unjustly suffered over the past two years.

Jeanne and I shared a lot of laughs and good times together and I wanted to share some of those photos.

Always quick with a genuine smile, Jeanne was a light shining on all around her.  She had such energy for life and is missed so much. The energy included willingness to shoot hoops with our teenage son whenever she passed by. She was good too!
Always ready with a smile, Jeanne will always be remembered for the light she shared with everyone around her.  And then, there was her energy - as I think of her challenging our teenage son to shoot hoops.  She was good too.
Jeanne’s bright light touched so many lives. Her infectious smile and open arms will be missed. Madison, Kristen, Mikayla and I send our love to Don, Amanda, and the whole family ❤️
