Jeanie's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mrs. Jeanie Daniel on January 14, 2024. Jeanie was born on July 11, 1934, to the late William H. James and Helen James. She was a beloved wife to Wayne Daniel, loving mother to Kathy Baker, John Michael Black, Gary Black, Tony Daniel, and Shan Daniel, cherished grandmother to Chris Baker, Jim Baker, Julia Haddix, Shan Daniel, Alisha Cornett, Elizabeth Black, and 13 great grand-kids.

Her friends and family will remember Jeanie for her hard-working, independent, loving, and caring nature. She was a regular attendee at the Heritage Baptist Church in Benbrook, TX and previously with Northside Baptist Church in Weatherford, and her faith added much richness to her life. This dynamic woman was also a private investigator, a youth volunteer, a restaurant owner, and a massage therapist.

Jeanie was passionate about many things in life. She took joy in the simple pleasures like her favorite foods, Mexican food, and pizza. She was a loyal supporter of the Dallas Cowboys and found relaxation in a glass of unsweetened iced mint tea. Her love for the color pink was iconic, and notorious for the comments she loved to make about Kenny Rogers, admiring his music and, as she would suggest, his looks.

A born entertainer, Jeanie could always be found on the dance floor. Her spirit and energy were infectious, and through her, many others discovered a love for dance. She cherished vacations in Jamaica and Hawaii, and would spend her free time watching classic black and white westerns and anything starring John Wayne.

Jeanie was also known for her frugality, always finding inventive ways to repurpose items that others might have discarded. Her resilience shone through when she faced cancer, inspiring those around her with her determination and bravery. Jeanie's legacy will be carried on in the lives of all those she touched, and her memory will be treasured always.

A funeral service will be held in Jeanie's honor on January 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Baptist Church. A reception will follow at 3:30PM at the DoubleTree by Hilton Fort Worth South Hotel & Conference Center. Please join us in celebrating the beautiful life of Jeanie, a woman who touched our lives in one way or another and will be deeply missed.
