After a long and productive life, Jeanette Mary Mattson passed away quietly at home in Lafayette, surrounded by her family, on January 23rd, 2019. Born on May 21, 1932, she was the second of four daughters of Leo and Gertrude Mattson of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Nicknamed “Einstein” in high school and accepted into the Mathematics department of the University of Minnesota, Ms. Mattson chose instead to marry Thomas Podany, becoming Jeanette Podany, and focus on raising …
