Jean's obituary

Sun City Center, Florida - Jean Wilkinson, 83, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on March 19, 1940, in Abington, Pennsylvania, to the late Albert and Lillian Rowe.

Jean was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be remembered for her unwavering love and dedication to her family, always putting their needs above her own. Her nurturing spirit and gentle heart touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Denise Morin (Chris) and Debora Wilkinson, grandson Zachary Tucker (Kerri), sister Beth Anne Lowrie (David), and brother Frank Rowe (Donna). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Emmett, and her nephew Tim. Jean also leaves behind nieces Lorelee Isbell (Mike) Amanda Boyer (Jeff), and nephews Christopher Rowe (Heather) and Zachary Rowe (Paula).

Jean's educational journey began in the Neshaminy School district in Bucks County, PA, graduating from Harford High School, Harford, PA, after the family moved to Susquehanna County, PA, in 1953. Afterward, she attended Ridley Lowell Business School in Binghamton, New York. She believed in the value of education and always encouraged her loved ones to pursue their academic dreams.

Jean had a successful career as a bookkeeper, working for the towns of Conklin and Kirkwood, NY, before eventually becoming the CEO of EJW Corp Drilling and Blasting. Her strong work ethic and attention to detail were evident in her professional accomplishments.

Faith played an important role in Jean's life, and she found solace in her worship at the First Universalist Church in Brooklyn, PA. She drew strength and comfort from her spiritual community and lived her life guided by the values instilled in her.

In her leisure time, Jean enjoyed pursuing her hobbies of sewing and knitting. She had a talent for creating beautiful garments and cherished handmade gifts for her family and friends. Jean also had a keen interest in genealogy, spending countless hours uncovering the rich tapestry of her family history. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Prosperity Chapter 83.

A celebration of Jean's life will be held at the First Universalist Church in Brooklyn, PA on March 9, 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her name to Metropolitan Ministries, a charity close to Jean's heart.

During this time of loss, may we find comfort in the memories we shared with Jean. Her legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will forever remain in our hearts. Rest peacefully, dear Jean, knowing that you have left an indelible mark on the lives you touched.
