I will always have fond memories of Jean (and Bob) - the cool parents in the group!  Spending time in their Long Valley family room as an anxious teenager where I was used to older people always being judgmental and instructional on how I should be living my life.  Cut your hair, get a job, etc..  Jean (and Bob) were never that.  Quite the opposite.  I always felt like I was treated as an equal - a grown up.  And somehow that worked better for me.  Because I felt if I was trusted to be treated as such, I better act the part!  That sense of welcome and warmth and love was always there.  It was obvious to everyone who was around her - as was her love for Bob and the great marriage they shared.   While we mourn your loss, take comfort in this celebration of life for someone who lived life as it should be lived - with caring and respect for all.  For that will always be how they will be remembered.
Although Jean and I were friends in high school, but we really re-connected at our dear friend Ellen’s funeral. This very sad event was the impetus for renewing a friendship that included Bob and my husband Bill. We just clicked. Our visits to Florida and Hilton Head were filled with laughter.  The description of Jean in her obituary is spot on. Such a great laugh and always good humored. She loved her family with a passion. Our condolences to all her family.
