Dear Sue,
I am sorry to be so late with this memorial. Unfortunately we had several deaths in our family near and after Jean death. The lat time I saw her were both getting blood work at the center in Paramus. I was so sorry to hear that her cancer had reoccurred. I thought about her many times thereafter and prayed for her recovery. My three sisters had breast cancer and one died. I remember the worry and grief it caused my family. I will pray for you and your family that your grief will be softened by your wonderful memories and pride you share in those memories of your beloved Jean. May she rest in peace in the arms of your wonderful parents.
Peace and Love to you and the boys ,

I met Jean through a mutual friend. She came to a social justice book discussion group I hosted on Zoom and she was such a wonderful, enriching addition to our group. I so appreciated her voice at the table. Truly a magnificent human. May her family and friends have the comfort and support they need to endure their great loss.

I had the privilege of profiling Jean and her work at West Side High School when I worked at the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. I wanted to share this video in case some of you haven’t seen it before. More than 10 years later, my friends and I still remember Jean as the most exceptional health champion we ever worked with — among thousands of schools nationwide. The impact she had on those students was both obvious and immeasurable. Rest in peace, Jean.

I am so very sorry to learn of Jean’s passing. I met Jean during the turbulent times surrounding the Common Core Curriculum and PARCC/standardized testing. Our paths would cross in Trenton and all around the state of NJ as she would testify for common sense in educational practices. I knew her to be a passionate fighter and advocate for children and parental rights within the educational system. We may not have agreed on all topics regarding education but she was always willing to listen to everyone and fight along side those she might not have completely agreed with but understood cooperation was the key to winning the “fight”. She was a compassionate, fair minded, and generous person who left this earth way too soon.
My thoughts & heartfelt prayers are with her family & friends. I pray her memory may be for a blessing and that you may find some solace in the outpouring of love from those whose lives she touched in such a positive way. RIP Jean and fly free without pain.

Sending my condolences to Jean’s family… Ms. Jean was one of my teachers at B.L.E.N.D… she was a great person and teacher. You will be missed!
