Jean was a close friend to my mother Helen Cedergren, but she was also a friend, counselor and mentor to me and my siblings as well. She was one of the most important people to me when I was a teenager. She was smart, fun and a little crazy and she believed in me  My sister Carol and I spoke about her often. A month ago, Carol encouraged me to call her. I hadn't spoken to her in 27 years.  However, on Tuesday, November 29th, I decided to call her to tell her how much she meant to me when I was a young man  I called her work number and left a message at 12:37, then I called her cell number at 12:38.  She didn't pick up.  I later discovered that she passed away.  She will live on in the many lives of the people who she loved and helped including me.  

She was one of a kind and we feel fortunate to have been able to call her our friend. Our hearts are heavy and we miss her already.

We will be at the celebration of life as well as Mannys.
