Im sorry to hear of her passing she was one of the best therapists ive ever had,a genuine beautiful person. She help me in so many ways I really dont even know where to start always found time even at last minute calls even called me with a question .  It's crazy I helped her understand with her late daughter's diagnosis having the same problem for years, family first is what she use to say. One of her many sayings was the Lord works in mysterious ways and if you got a bad lemon you might as well try to use it somehow. My condolences  to her Family she will be missed.

Today is Dr. Tracy's birthday.  I love that it's also pie day (3.14). I bought a piece of pie for everyone in the house and we celebrated her! May each day remind you of one of her many sayings... I am love and kindness,  you are love and kindness,  we are love and kindness!

May we all find one way each day to celebrate each other and find love!

I was so blessed to have met Dr Jean and have her as my therapist since 2014. Started out going for marital counseling ended up seeing her for individual therapy and she really helped me get through my divorce and some very difficult times in my life. Felt like she was a grandmother figure and felt a deep connection and love and support from her. Last saw her in 2022. Very saddened to hear of her passing. 🙏🙏🙏 but reading what an amazing person she was makes me happy ❤️ I’ll never forget her quirkiness, humor, great kindness  empathy and wisdom! ❤️ Thank you so much Dr Jean! You’ll be missed by so many!

I still try and live by the words Jean had on her business card..

“ Be an encourager”

She was one of a kind, and even though she isn’t with us here on earth, her spirit and sense of love and kindness live on forever!

I just found out about losing Jean when I looked her up to recommend her to a friend. Jean helped me through some incredibly difficult and tragic times of my life,  and she did so with such patience, grace, kindness,  and humor. She never to ceased to amaze me with a study she would reference from memory, the wisdom in how she would frame out a question for me to think about, or a story she would share to provide alternate viewpoints to my own. She helped me evolve into a better person who found myself. She made the world a better place, and left the world a better place,  and genuinely touched the lives of everyone she interacted with.  There really is no greater honor than that.  With my most heartfelt condolences  on your loss.

To Jean's family,

I just learned of Jean's passing. I had the pleasure of Jean's insights as a trusted therapist and guiding light at a significant period in my life. My deepest condolences on your loss, and the world's loss.

With sympathy,

Christianne Hodina

"I just called to say I love you, and I mean it from the bottom of my heart!" Best phone calls I received from Dr. Tracy

I'm going to celebrate with pizza pie and a piece of pie!

Always had a good time with "mama" Jean every year when we all went to the Renaissance Fair. Truly miss ya ma.

I just heard of Jean's passing and I am very sad for the loss of  such a great friend, mentor and confidant. I knew Jean for over 25 years and she was an outstanding fellow professional. It is said that when such a person passes from this life, a library burns down. The loss of Jean is far more than that. She was a gentle, wise and empathic professional who truly valued everyone she knew and most of all, her family.  My heartfelt condolences go to them as well.

Jean, my dear friend, I will see you in the next life and until that time will greatly miss you.

Steven Uhrik

Every time I talked or saw Jean, she was an act of kindness! Jean was filled with love and kindness and shared it beautifully. Love, Danielle and Peter
I was one of Jean's early students before being drafted into the Navy at graduation.  After Vietnam, I too earned a PhD in Psychology from Jean's alma mater - TCU.  Jean was a supportive major professor, and it was an ironic coincidence that we both wound up Texas Christian alums.  Thanks to her vocational encouragement, I had a very successful career including serving on the UT Med School faculty, then later being invited to return to Navy where I eventually retired as a Captain before becoming a faculty member and Program Official at the National Institutes of Health.  During my career, I was detailed to the Clinton White House for 7 years where I did work supporting the State Department and Vice President Gore as well as the JCS at the Pentagon.  Jean's ensuring that I had mastered the fundamentals of Psychology put me on that amazing career path.  For that I shall always be grateful.  All my love, Jean.
I was so saddened to hear of Dr. Tracy’s passing. I was blessed to meet her and have her as my therapist. She helped me through some rough times in my life. She helped me to uncover a reason for one of my biggest fears. I will forever be grateful for her. Rest In Peace Dr. Tracy. You will be missed. 🙏🏻💕💔

Dear The Family of Dr. Jean Tracy,

I wanted to say I'm so sorry for your loss.  You all are in my thoughts and prayers!!!   Dr. Tracy was incredible mentor and awesome person. I'm so sad to hear of hear passing.    Sending prayers and hugs to all of you.

Dr. Tracy, you will always be my guardian angel. Love, Liz

The world has lost a great advocate for all disenfranchised and hurting souls. Jean Kathryn was my father’s first cousin and I loved spending time with her - especially at Lake Buchanan in Burnet, TX. We played many games of 42, swam and took daily walks or hikes. She was an encourager and I loved her laugh. Despite the distance between Texas and Illinois, I always knew she was a phone call away and she was cheering for me. I miss that we did not have the opportunity to visit in person prior to Kathy’s and Jean’s passing. Cindy and family you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Remember you have people in Texas that love you. My dad, O.E. Hartgroves, Jr. and the family send our sincere condolences.

Love and sympathy,

Tammie Diane Hartgroves

Jean is one of the most brilliant woman, intellectually and spiritually. Jean could brighten even the darkest of days. Jean is filled with genuine kindness, love, care, wisdom, empathy, generosity, and humor.

I have been truly blessed to know Jean for over 20+ years. I still remember the first day meeting Jean and feeling this sense of overall peacefulness and calm and appreciated her warm smile. Through the years, I was also blessed by Jean's incredible wisdom that guided and protected me through this major world, called life.

Jean also had the gift of always being there for me. I could pick up the phone during her busy day often with no notice and somehow, somewhere, any critical situation, Jean was always there for me. Sometimes all I needed was to hear Jean's soothing voice and guidance and all was better again. Jean genuinely cared for others. Some people can make you fly, but Jean had the ability to help you soar.

Jean had a major impact on my life and I miss her beyond words. I admire Jean for the whole person she is. Jean was a role model for me and I'm sure a silent role model for hundreds more.

A few years later, my husband also met Jean. We always thought if there were more Jean K. Tracy's what a better world this would be. Our dear Jean, we miss you so much.

I only knew Jean, but I also know she loved with all her heart her two beautiful daughters and all of her grandchildren meant the world to her. You are all so loved by Jean.

I will continue to keep all of Jean's family, friends and patients in my prayers.

St. Francis was one of Jean's favorite saints, and she too was humble and so giving. Jean always put everyone first. Jean loved the prayer and song, titled “The Prayer of St. Francis” (also known as the “Peace Prayer of St. Francis”) Jean not only shared those words, she lived them.

Jean would often reference the importance of the phrase, "May we be filled with love and kindness.”

My husband and I will be honoring Jean as best we can by continuing to pass on her words and actions of love and kindness. And may we all keep Jean's "love and kindness" forever in our hearts and minds.

Love, Danielle

It was my honor to have known Jean—she was a truly wonderful person who touched so many lives.  She could light up anyone’s day!   May her memory be a blessing.  Much love to her daughter, Cindy.

Grandma Jean was a 3rd parent for me.

She was always there if I ever needed to talk about anything.

This makes me so sad.  I literally just sent her a message this week to see if she was still doing counseling.  I moved to the city of Chicago so it was hard for me to get out to have a session with her.  Dr. Tracy was such an excellent counselor, the best one I ever had.  She helped me so much in a very difficult time leading up to and post my divorce.
