Jean's obituary
Jean Halley Jeffrey
Jean Halley Jeffrey (October 31, 1934 - November 4, 2024) passed away a few days after her 90th birthday party, celebrated with family and friends.
Jean was born to Francis and Donald Goodrich in Detroit, Michigan. She spent her early years in Ohio, New York and Virginia and her teen years in Arizona. While in nursing school in Arizona she met and married Lloyd Gifford and they had two children, Donna Jean Gifford born in 1955 and Debra Marie Gifford born in 1958. Debra passed away in 2011 at the age of 52.
Jean and her daughters moved to Redlands, California, where the girls attended high school. Buying real estate was one of the ways she supported her family. Eventually she married Bill Jeffrey and they settled in nearby Yucaipa. For a few years before Jean’s passing, her daughter Donna was living with and caring for her in Yucaipa.
Jean was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1955. She raised her daughters in the church and remained a life-long member. She had a firm testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and her loving Heavenly Father. She was an active member of the Yucaipa 1st Ward for many years.
Jean loved spending time with her daughters. She loved her friends, gatherings, game nights, parties, taking trips, cultural events, and sharing her talents. Her many talents included acting, dancing, painting and singing, including with the Yucaipa Treble Clefs.
Her funeral was held November 22, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 6th Street in Yucaipa, California. Her friendship was cherished by all who knew her.
