Background
When she was a child, Mom helped her dad tag Monarchs as the butterflies traveled through Paoli, Indiana, during their annual migration from North America to Mexico, in order to help document their numbers and travel. This was a very meaningful experience for her, and later, as an adult, Ann made a pilgrimage herself to the mountains of Mexico to see where the Monarchs gathered after their long flight. Due to diminishing habitats and food, Monarchs today are endangered. The Saving Our Monarchs nonprofit helps individuals grow gardens to create more habitats and increase food to aid in the Monarchs' survival.
