Zion, We didn’t know the day that God was going to call your name. In life, we loved you dearly. In death, we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone. To my cousin, Even though you’re gone for the rest of my life, you will always be with me moon and back. When life separates us, I’ll know it is only your soul saying goodbye to your body, but your spirit will be with me always. When I see a bird chirping on a nearby branch, I will know it is you singing to me. When a butterfly brushes gently by me so carefree, I will know it is you assuring me you are free from pain. When the gentle fragrance of a flower catches my attention, I will know it is you reminding me to appreciate the simple things in life. When my mama called me saying your cousin got lost in the water, it shocked me at first then she told me the story—I immediately broke down and prayed they found you safe and sound, but instead, it was the other way around. Lord knows I was hurt. But I’m gonna keep pushing and keep my head up for you, big dawg. Lord knows I didn’t want you to leave this earth, but God needed you up there. If Tears Could Build A Stairway, If tears could build a stairway and thoughts a memory lane, we would walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. No farewell words were spoken. No time to say good-bye. You were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why. Our heart is still active in sadness and secret tears still flow. What it means to lose you, no one can ever know. Brother, You gave no one a last farewell, nor said goodbye. You were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why. A million times we will miss you, a million times we will cry. My Sweet Baby Boy, No words can describe how I feel since you went away. My heart is heavy, my soul aches. I cry for you every day. The time God gave me with you, I will hold so close to my heart. I will mourn daily, my Bug, because it hurts so much to be apart. God blessed me the day he made me your mom; he even blessed the day he took you to come and be in his arms. I love you forever, Zion! I can never express how much losing you is the hardest thing ever because I will never feel a touch, a hug, a kiss, or ever see that smile again.
