Jayson Alves, age 23, was a passionate poet and artist who passed away on January 19, 2023. Jayson was born in Fogo, Cape Verde on January 01, 2000. He was the youngest child of Maria Depina and John Alves. Jayson’s parents were both first generation immigrants from Cape Verde.

John Alves was a successful businessman who owned a small grocery store in Boston. Maria Alves was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family. Jayson Alves was a bright and outgoing child. From an early age, he showed an interest in art and literature, something his parents encouraged.

Jayson graduated from high school in 2018. He also began writing poetry and painting, two pursuits that would become lifelong passions. He will be forever loved and missed.
