Jay's obituary
In Loving Memory of Jay Robert Jablonski
July 14, 1957 – May 15, 2025
Jay Robert Jablonski, beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on May 15, 2025, with his wife by his side in one of his favorite places—the pool area of their home. He was 67 years old.
Born on July 14, 1957, in Chicago, Jay lived a life full of warmth, humor, and generosity. He was a man who always put others first, offering his time, support, and heart without hesitation.
Jay was the proud father of Lisa, Dawn, and Wayne, and a loving stepfather to Miles and Cody. He was also a devoted grandfather to seven grandchildren. He found true happiness in the life he built with his beloved wife, Jacqueline, and their cherished cats. A proud cat dad, Jay also devoted his time to volunteering at a local cat shelter, where he found great joy in helping care for animals in need.
Jay earned his MBA and went on to start his own marketing business, which he and Jacqueline built together from the ground up. Their partnership in life extended to their work, and the business flourished under their combined talents, vision, and dedication.
He was a brother to Marc and Robin, and a true and loyal friend to many. Jay had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and valued. His favorite phrase, “Quit your quacking,” always brought a smile and perfectly captured his playful spirit.
Jay had a lifelong love for learning and self-mastery. He thrived on picking up new hobbies and diving in with full enthusiasm—earning a black belt in Taekwondo, playing the bass guitar, becoming a certified scuba diver, figure skater, skier, taking up running, and mastering strategy-based zombie games. Whatever he did, he brought a mix of passion, focus, and joy that was uniquely his own.
Jay will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his generous heart, his sense of humor, and the happiness he brought to the lives of everyone lucky enough to know him.
