Jason's obituary

Jason Avery Windham, 39, was born on April 15, 1985, in Florence, SC. He was called home into the arms of Jesus on June 8, 2024.

Jason lived in China Grove, North Carolina. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Windham, beloved fur babies Zoey and Sadie, his mother and stepfather Susan and Russ Gasner, twin brother Joshua (Emily) Windham, brother Andrew (Dana) Ferrel and sisters April (Todd) Jones and Cheryl Watford. In addition, his mother-in-law Debbie Yearwood, brother-in-law Thomas (Becky) Yearwood, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Jason was a proud Veteran, and earned many honors, awards and medals. He was most proud of his Joint Service Commendation Medal. He served 2 deployments. First in Iraq and later in Afghanistan. He was a hero who bravely and selflessly served our country. He worked as a truck driver for K.D. Trucking.

Jason was a man of unmatched courage, character, integrity and work ethic. He loved his family and friends fiercely. He was the most genuine, authentic person. He was funny, selfless, loving, giving, and kind. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to family, friends or strangers. He loved spending time in his happy place (our home), playing with our fur babies, hunting, 4-wheeling, tinkering in his shop and woodworking. He was a man of many talents and skills.

If he came into your world, even for a moment, he made a lasting difference in it. He will be loved and missed by many.

Services will be held Wednesday, June 26th at 2:00pm. At the National Cemetery Annex, (Directly behind the W.G. (Bill) Hefner Salisbury Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center), 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144
