Jason, I love you. I wouldn’t be where I am in my life if not for you. You took me in and took amazing care of me at one of my lowest points when I was 21. Gave me a bedroom to myself and a job and a loving family (even though it was mostly dogs- I will forever love those pups.) When I had nothing and nothing to give, you expected nothing from me except my presence. I will never forget all the nights we sat and laughed our asses off at your table. You are forever such a big part of my heart. Rest well. You are so missed here.

Rest in Peace Jason! You are one of my favorite person to talk up a storm❣️
Jason, you introduced me to the love of my life, my wife to be, my best friend and partner. We now have a beautiful baby daughter and we owe it all to you. Thank you for being such a wonderful and generous person, always kind and hospitable to everyone around you. You were one of a kind, a gentleman, and a good soul. I’ll never forget our trip to Peru, all the late nights, and deep conversations.  We will miss you dearly buddy. Aloha.
Jason had a way of making me feel better about everything when I was in contact with him. He added to my life and our Maui Ohana with his spirt. I can remember him MCing auctions at Growing Dreams fundraiser telling jokes and getting everybody to raise their bids and feel good about it. It was always a bit hard for him to get up in front of everybody as he would have a slight studder problem that he always worked to keep in check but went up there and did it in spite of it. His courage to do this and do it well is something that stands out in my memories of him. I will miss him.

I was in disbelief when I heard the news of Jason's passing. Jason was my classmate in high school. I haven’t been around him since then, but Jason was uniquely unforgettable. He spread joy. Jason made everyone feel comfortable, he made you feel like smiling. He made you feel like laughing.

Reading the stories and condolences here, I see that his love and light radiated throughout his adulthood. I am convinced that anyone who ever met Jason loved being near him.

To Jason’s family and friends, I offer my deepest sympathy. May you find peace knowing that Jason uplifted everyone he knew. I am so sorry.

Our condolences to Jason's family. My wife and I first met Jason 29 years ago, and in Jason style he was smiling ear to ear. His greeting was Im so glad to meet you, they told me there was another black guy on the island. In an instant I had a friend. Jason was always the life of the party, his energy, smile and sense of humor was contagious.  If you ran into him, he greeted you with the biggest smile and he made you feel like you just made his day. He always made friends feel his love. We pray you find comfort in the remembering, of his smile and laugh. Aloha Patrick and Jackie Turner
When I first moved back to Maui, around 2012, my sister Brooke and her husband Leon invited me to hang by the pool in Wailea with them. I had met Jason once before, but didn't know anybody else and felt like an outsider, so I separated myself from the group by exploring the nearby grassy areas. Jason, was in the middle of telling one of his hilarious stories when he noticed what I was doing. Jason stopped his story and yelled across the lawn... "Jonah, we love you!" After that I felt accepted, which is a really great feeling, and I had a lot of fun that day. Thank you for giving that to me Jason. You will be missed. A Hui Hou.
