Jason's obituary

Jason Wayne "JRoss" Ross passed away on March 14, 2025, in Bettendorf, Iowa, at the age of 52.

His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Born on May 26, 1972, Jason was a graduate of Creston High School in Creston, Iowa. Over the course of his life, he built a dynamic and successful career in sales, spanning industries from western wear—boots, hats, belts, and buckles—to Schwan’s foods, luxury automobiles, and commercial tires. His dedication to excellence and customer service was evident in every role he took on. Jason brought energy, charisma, and an unwavering drive to succeed that made a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.

Jason had a lifelong passion for golf. More than just a sport, it was a source of joy, competition, and personal growth. He participated in numerous charity tournaments such as Coaches Vs. Cancer and found great fulfillment mentoring young players through the First Tee Junior Golf Program. Most recently, he was a proud member of Hillcrest Country Club in Adel, Iowa. Whether competing with friends or placing friendly bets on the course, Jason embraced the camaraderie and challenge that golf offered.

A devoted fan of the Iowa State Cyclones and the Kansas City Chiefs, Jason also enjoyed fine scotch and bourbon. He was known for his generosity, loyalty, and strong convictions. His presence was magnetic—he never entered a room without encountering familiar faces or creating new connections. Those who knew him will remember his booming laughter, his larger-than-life personality, and the way he inspired others to be their best.

Jason was preceded in death by his mother Barb and father Gary. He is survived by his loving wife Kelly; bonus daughters Savanna and Maddie; bonus son Greyson; sister Tammy; brother-in-law Charles; nieces Amanda, Noelle, and Tiffany; great-aunt Di; additional family members; and many cherished friends—some so close they were like family. Also remembered fondly is his beloved dog Maverick, affectionately known as Mav Dawg.

Jason’s memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his passion, humor, and indomitable spirit. May his legacy continue to bring comfort to all who knew him.
