Jason always lit up the room when he was around. Smiling, dancing, etc. He loved his kids so deeply. Jillian was always his baby girl and he was so proud to share his love of the outdoors with Nolan. So many good memories to hold onto.

I remember the rush of mornings before school, when I tried  to wake Jason up for the 15th time and how my little brother would  have to run out the door, trying to catch me before I drove off. He was always just a few steps behind, backpack swinging, yelling for me to wait. I’d pretend not to hear sometimes, just to make him run faster, but I always waited. That one morning he didn’t make it in time still plays in my head.

Now, I hold onto those moments like they’re gold. The trouble, the laughter, the near-misses — all of it. He’s still with me in every rearview glance and every flash of laughter I hear in my head.
