Jason's obituary

Jason Leigh Murphy, age 46, left this world on November 27, 2022 after a hard fought battle with Pancreatic cancer.

Jason was born January 24, 1976  in Leominster, MA. He spent most of his childhood and teenage years residing in Leominster and Houlton, Maine. He was a graduate of Leominster High trade school where he studied Culinary design.

Jason was a very active child and the majority of his childhood was spent outdoors. He could be found biking around town, playing dek hockey at the Leominster dek hockey center, camping and adventuring in the woods, running around with friends and excelling in every sport- including sports and games he created to stay busy.

He was always a hard worker and began work at an early age with his first bike route being at only 7 years old. He held a few jobs throughout his teens at various restaurants but eventually his curiosity was peaked with wiring and electricity and thus he became an electrician, his favorite job being at Creative Paper in Worcester for 14 years.

If you knew Jason, you knew he was passionate in all areas of his life. When he discovered a hobby or interest, he researched it until he perfected it. He gave more than 100 % of himself to every project or task no matter the size until it was to his standard of complete.

The most important thing to him was family and he dedicated his life to insure his family had everything they needed.  Oftentimes working 70 hour work weeks and then spending 10 hours at the rink on weekends coaching. He was so happy his kids inherited his love of dek hockey and was so proud watching them all play.  If he was your coach, you were his “kid”, he loved to watch a player grow. He was a devoted hockey coach, friend, brother, son, husband and father.

Jason was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Jean and is survived by his father, Forrest Lewis and brother, Scott Lee of Houlton, ME. He is also survived by his wife of 19 years, Devon Victoria and his four children, Maxwell Keegan, Sheadon Thomas, Kyleigh Victoria and Wynter Jae of Gardner, MA.

There will be a celebration of life held in Jason’s memory. Come help us celebrate his life, not remember his death on June 4th, 2023 at the Lithuanian Outing Association from 5-9 pm.

Jason is best remembered sitting around a fire, listening to 80’s music with a large iced coffee or a cold Sam Adams in hand, with his infectious laugh ringing out. Come share a story and a laugh with us in his honor.
