Jay's obituary
In Loving Memory of Jason Dean Moore
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic loss of Jason Dean Moore who passed away unexpectedly on November 24, 2023 at the age of 37.
Jay was born on November 5, 1986, to Rick and Lesley Moore in Arlington, Washington where he resided most of his life. He was the youngest of 4 children and the only child of his mother’s 2nd marriage. He was a very welcome addition to the family and deeply adored by his 3 much older siblings.
As a child Jay was very energetic and involved in a wide variety of sports and activities. He had an imaginative mind and very inquisitive nature. From a very young age he demonstrated a strong curiosity about how things went together. He spent countless hours disassembling the world around him and investigating the inner workings of anything he could get his hands on until he understood what made them work. He would then use that knowledge for building his own projects and inventions. Even as an adult he was always tinkering and building.
Jay welcomed his firstborn child into this world at the young age of 17. Even though he was only a teenager he showed maturity beyond his years. His unwavering commitment to parenthood was evident from the very beginning. He was a devoted father who dedicated his life to providing love, guidance, and support to his beloved children.
After high school Jay was employed at Stockpot for several years. He later joined the Carpenter’s Union where he worked as a finish carpenter at Elite Millwork for 8 years. In 2019 he became a small business owner and operator of his own General Contracting company, Caliber Construction Solutions, LLC. It brought him a great amount of joy and was something he was very proud of. His brother-in-law, Terry Alexander, later joined him in this endeavor. The two had a successful business with many pleased clients.
Jay was an adventure seeker who lived life to the fullest. He led a vibrant and exciting life, filled with joy and love. He had a wide range of interests with thrill seeking tendencies that took him in many different directions. He was an avid music enthusiast with eclectic taste who played multiple instruments including drums and guitar. He had a passion for traveling and enjoyed taking road trips, especially on his Harley Davidson. He also loved boating, kayaking, fishing, camping, hunting, riding dirt bikes, golfing, cooking, and most recently was taking paragliding lessons.
Jay was so many things, an entrepreneur, a friend, a confidant, a beloved son, an adored little brother, a cherished uncle, a dedicated and loving father, and an all-around extraordinary human being. His warm smile, infectious laughter, and friendly disposition touched the lives of all who crossed his path. He had a spirit brimming with energy, a heart pulsating with care, and an irresistible enthusiasm that electrified everyone around him. To know him truly was to love him.
Jay is survived by his ex-wife and mother of his children, Sasha Alexander, His son, Riley Moore, his daughter Alexis Moore, his mother, Lesley Moore, his father, Rick Moore, his brother, Dave Greenbaum, his sister, Rebekah Greenbaum Kendall. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. Jay was preceded in death by his brother, Nathan Greenbaum.
Jay's untimely departure leaves a void that can never be filled and a grieving community of family and friends who will forever cherish his memory, his love for life, and the joy he brought to those around him. Although he is no longer with us in body, his spirit remains, whispering in our hearts, manifesting in our lives, and profoundly touching our souls. May he find eternal peace, and may his spirit continue to inspire others to embrace the beauty of life just as he did.
