Jay was from another time to me, men I had met or known back decades ago in the 60'S.  Jay represents the zeitgeist of the time, an unbridled yet fragile way, that I very much was drawn to, and felt a warmth and kinship with.  An aloofness also , part of his persona which one accepts gladly as a mercurial side of him can reveal itself.  I enjoyed conversing and getting to know jay during those often brief encounters.  Thank you Jaybird

I came back here to see Jay again. He comes to my mind now and then, usually bringing smiles with him. I was at a Punk & New Wave festival in Huntington Beach last fall and someone walked by me that looked so much like Jaybird - down to the hat. It caught me so off guard that I started crying. It’s still unreal that people from our scene have left us too soon. I hope Heaven has brought Jason peace until he reunites with his loved ones.
