Jason's obituary

**Obituary for Jason Jermaine Hernandez**

September 27, 1972 - September 23, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jason Jermaine Hernandez, a proud husband and passionate advocate for change. Jason passed away just days short of his 53rd birthday, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and purpose.

Jason was a dedicated student in internet technology, with a keen interest in digital art and marketing. He enjoyed music, especially playing guitar, and spent countless hours working on his truck, exploring the great outdoors, and playing with his dog. A passionate creator, Jason enjoyed working on his website, where he shared his interests and connected with others.

A significant part of Jason's life was his mission to educate the public on the long-term effects of solitary confinement on individuals. His contributions to the book *Texas Letters* and his involvement in various documentaries highlighted the urgent need for reform, showcasing his resilience and commitment to advocacy.

Jason is preceded in death by his cherished mother, Nelda Gonzales. He is survived by his loving wife, Tina Hernandez, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bunnia and Wade McBride, stepfather, Michael Gonzales, and his wife, Janie; his sister, Michelle Alvarado and her husband, Carlos; his brother, Johnathan Gonzales and his wife, Erika; aunts Irene and Doreen; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Jason touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His spirit, laughter, and unwavering dedication to making a difference will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. In honor of Jason’s memory, let us continue to advocate for those who are silenced and work together toward a more compassionate world.
