I've worried this was the case for a couple years now.

Jason and i went to middle school together and reconnected after high school. I tried my best back then to get him sober. We would make deals like "wont use until after christmas" and sometimes it worked!

The last time I spoke to him, he was unintelligible.

I dont know what sadness or trouble he carried with him but he was immensely loved by people who could remember the real him.

I hope he is finally resting. I love you Jason.

I'm just finding this after his birthday post. I've sent him messages over the years and was uncertain how to contact him. But I've missed him so much and my heart is in pieces this morning. I'm so sorry guys.
Pratt & I are so sorry to hear of your son/brother passing away. We know he is doing well in Heaven. 💓

I could not even believe that my sweet Jason is gone. My love and hugs to his family. They have always been a huge part of my life. Jason was like a done to me. I loved him dearly and he knew it.  I was thinking about all the laughs he brought us in life . All the kind works and so many hugs will always be remembered. I still remember a time when he came to girls camp with his dad for the day. He spent the day with me and our girls but mostly he spent time out for my daughter. She was there at camp with me ( she was 18 months). He would push her on the swing and then carry her all over just to entertain her. He was so kind. I still have a drawing he made of her. He was so talented in everything he did. I love you Jason and I know you are no longer suffering I’m sure you are busy causing laughter with all your sas.

My condolences to Jason's family. I first met Jason when we were in highschool. We travelled together for a year with HOSA (Health occupations of America). We were State Officers together and our team was a dynamo.  Soon after graduation Jason moved in with me in Orlando to share my apartment. We made up dances and then would go to clubs and look like a well-rehearsed class act.  He always spoke about how much he adored his sisters, loved, and missed them.

He was always the one in the room to make everyone laugh and made every woman feel beautiful. He taught me so many life lessons and I know I taught him plenty as well. We celebrated life often and would have the best party's and everyone loved how sensitive, kind, and loving Jason was.  He was always filled with confidence, sass, and comments to make your day shift in the right direction.

Years later we lost touch and during hard times I would hear from him at times. Our mutual friends Chad and Lucy reached out to him many times over the years and worried about him.

Jason shared many deep personal life lessons as we explored our early 20's. His picture is still in my home today and while I have worried about him for some years I didn't know what had happened to him.

I am sad that he didn't get to experience his dreams and that whatever happened in his recent years I wish he would have reached out and known that he was loved unconditionally by our group of friends.

Jason will always be a brother in my heart . I miss you bro and I love you and I know you are dancing- singing- and living your best life now in heaven!

Until we meet again friend - so long !

Love and prayers to the whole Godwin Family. We love you all and we mourn with you.

My Love thoughts and prayers are with all Jason's family and friends!!  He was such a sweetheart.  He always had a smile and a hug for me every time I saw him!!  I have great memories from when I celebrated his birthday with him after his Dad Bruce passed away.  I know his family will miss him!!  Hate all yalls Guts!!!    Love, Sandy
Words are never enough, especially for the loss of someone so loved and so young. So sorry for your loss. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
