Jason's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jason "Jay Rocc" Bettis, who left us far too soon on August 30, 2023.
He preferred to be called Jay Rocc and was a man who was often described as a loyal, dependable, family man, and the one who brought laughter into every situation. He had a deep appreciation for hearty meals, trying new things and enjoyed his steak, ribs, and burgers, just as much as he relished his favorite drink, Paul Mason or Maker's Mark. A fan of The Walking Dead and Marvel Movies, he spent enjoyable hours watching this series with his wife and any new action movie he could find. However, nothing brought him more delight than cooking out with his family, showing his son how to fix or cook something and playing with his children.
In the year 2018, Jason married his beloved wife Leanne Bettis, who survives him today. Besides his wife, Jason leaves behind a loving family. This includes his sons Jeremiah Bettis and Elias McBride, his daughters Jayla and Milica Bettis, and Aniyah and Raelyn Jones. His parents Sharon and Russell Galloway, his grandmother Elaine Brown, and his sister Rebecca Galloway also survive him. As well as, his aunts and uncles, Warren and Cathy Baden and Robin and Ricky Harmon. Jason was predeceased by his father, Melvin Bettis, and grandfather, Edmond Brown. Jason held his extended family very near and dear to his heart, residing in Greenville, SC...The Andersons; brothers Nick, Travis, and Patrick Anderson, Rodney, Bren "Bebe", Barbara Jean, Roberta, Brenda, Sabrina, Melissa, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and more family!
Jason's favorite color was blue; the color that symbolizes trust and loyalty, hallmarks of his character. His jokes and laughter enriched the lives of everyone around him and his absence leaves a void that can't be filled. Yet, even in our pain, we will remember Jason with joy, for he was a man who made every moment count.
We will commemorate Jason's life at a later date, details will follow.
The family would appreciate assistance with the celebration of life costs in lieu of flowers. See link to the right on this web page to donate.
The void left by Jason's passing will never be filled, but he will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
