Jason's obituary

Jason Barnes, 38, of South Bend, Indiana, passed Tuesday, March 26, 2019. Jason was born to Leon Barnes Jr., and Sandra (Carl) Pruitt, on July 28, 1980 in Lewiston, New York.

Jason graduated from LaSalle High School in South Bend, IN in 1999 and received a degree from Baker College of Muskegon, MI in 2003 and Lancaster Bible College in 2015. He was engaged to his first true love, Adeline Torres, and they lived together in Boston, MA. He loved the Boston Harbor and always bragged on its gorgeous views to family and friends as well as frequently visiting Fenway Park, the Boston Red Sox stadium. Jason was employed by Lids, Inc. where he excelled in Management. He served with the AmeriCorps in 2013-2015 and was passionate about affecting the most positive change in people and mentorship. In 2018 he was honored with the Top Sales and Service award for sales volume at Lids. While majoring in Bible Studies at Lancaster he was proud to have been ordained and carried out his late grandmother’s legacy of studying and showing thyself approved. He leaves behind his parents Sandra-mother, Carl-father and Leon Barnes, Jr(Edith)-father. His siblings Carlos(Maxine), Taneisha, LaSonya, Stephanie(Ralph Jr.), and DeRon(Sherron). His nieces Symphony, Carlin, Joelle, Ja’Niyah and Sariah. His nephews Tre’Lin, Brandon, Nicoles and My’Cole. A host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Godmother Diane Blake. Godsister Maria Blake and Godbrother Adrian Blake. Jason was proceeded in death by his childhood bestfriend and brother Carl Jr. His maternal grandparents Edwin Sr. and Reverend Jessie L. Jones and paternal grandparents Minor and Ethel Pruitt and Spencer and Lula Sippio, uncles Willie, Fred Sr, Ralph Sr., and John Paul. His aunts Glenette, Ellen, Molly, Bertha, Cora, and Louise. His maternal and paternal great grandparents.
