Jason's obituary

Jason Alan Moore

June 3, 1982 – March 20, 2025

Jason Alan Moore, beloved brother, son, and friend, passed away on March 20, 2025, in Fremont, California at the age of 42.

Born in Palo Alto, CA, on June 3, 1982, Jason grew up surrounded by music, creativity, and a tight-knit family. He was raised by his parents, Gina and Kevin Moore, alongside his three sisters—Marisa, Kristen, and Alyssa —who he loved deeply and protected fiercely throughout his life. Over the years, Jason also lived with his grandfather, Papa Ben, and later his grandmother, Nana, forming bonds that shaped his compassionate spirit. He shared a meaningful, on-and-off partnership and lifelong friendship with Michelle Hodges, who remained an anchor in his life. She sadly passed away 1 year before Jason's passing, and is also missed.

Jason was innately kind-hearted, with a goofy sense of humor, quick wit, and a deep well of empathy. His passion for music was undeniable—he was a gifted guitarist, lyricist, and songwriter. Whether he was listening to Nirvana or channeling Jimi Hendrix, Jason found purpose and expression in music. He also loved video games, magic tricks, skateboarding, and comic books, always surrounding himself with friends who cherished his vibrant and loyal nature.

He attended Duveneck Elementary, Jordan Middle School, and Palo Alto High School, where his talent as a writer stood out. Creativity flowed through every part of Jason's being—he felt things deeply and cared intensely.

Jason struggled for much of his life with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), particularly around his hearing and sensory perception. His days were often shaped by these persistent challenges. In his search for relief, Jason turned to drug use as a way to numb the intensity of his reality. Though addiction was part of his journey, it did not define him. Jason was so much more—he was a fierce protector of his sisters, a loyal and loving friend, a soulful artist, and a bright, gentle spirit.

He was cremated per his wishes, and a small memorial will be held with his closest friends and family. In honor of Jason’s lifelong love for music, the family invites donations in his name to the Guitar Center Music Foundation, which helps provide instruments to young musicians in need.

We invite those who knew Jason to share memories, stories, photos, or condolences. Every note, every moment remembered, helps keep his spirit alive.

**Jason** - we love you and miss you. We are here for you always, and you will never be forgotten.
