Jason had a huge passion for playing guitar. His muses were Kurt Colbain and Jimmy Hendrix. At his best, Jason wrote incredible lyrics and played guitar to a standard most would be insanely jealous of. He was beyond talented, yet his OCD with his hearing made it impossible for others to experience how musically and poetically creative he was. We thought long and hard about what would be a meaningful cause to donate to in his memory…and while causes for mental illness and substance abuse exist, what felt most meaningful and impactful to Jason’s memory was the constant in his life—guitar and music. The Guitar Center Music Foundation provides opportunities to get guitars into the lives of young musicians. We are hoping to contribute to the very thing that brought Jason so much joy and refuge throughout years of torment—guitar was a constant for him. For many, music serves as a crucial lifeline - a path to healing, an opportunity to nurture untapped talent, an escape from the grim realities of everyday life, a break from generational trauma, or the start of something new. We want to honor Jason by asking those who wish to honor him to contribute to this fund in his name. Contribute to Guitar Center Music Foundation
