This rowboat crossed the Pacific Ocean! Jared is helping me row it to the marina dock for haul out and shipping back to CA. Of course, we took it out for a joy ride first.

Our condolences to Michelle and Roger and their family. I first met Jared at a community event which he was attending with his parents.ย  I was very impressed with Jared and his focus on his career as an Ombudsman at the University of California at Riverside.ย  Our community has lost a unique and talented member.ย  We are less for our loss of Jared.
My heart goes out to the family.ย  Deepest condolences for your loss...Jared will be missed.

Heartbroken & so sorry for your loss.

We are very sorrow for your loss of Jared , our deepest condolence. We will be at the services September 9.

Sincerely

Oscar and Maria Ochomogoย

Gone from our sight but never from our hearts. I still vividly remember going to Taco Bell with Jared and he had his cool sunglasses on. It was always a joy to babysit him and the girls. It was a great privilege to watch him grow and live such an adventurous, service led life. My heart, thoughts and prayers are with you all.ย

His love for animals, people, nature and Earth is unparalleled and inspiring.

A peaceful moment at El Matadโ€ฆ
2016, El Matador State Beach, Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu, CA, USA
A peaceful moment at El Matador with a bunch of friends Freshman year. Jared loved the ocean! I have so many awesome memories of surfing, and snorkeling , and nerding out about creatures in the tide pools with him in Malibu. He got SCUBA certified in 2020 and LOVED it. We were looking forward to diving together someday

When Pepperdine closed for COโ€ฆ
2020, Pepperdine University
When Pepperdine closed for COVID, Jared helped organize a massive food drive of nonperishables as students moved out. We donated 500 pounds of food to a local food bank. Jared was my partner in crime for improving sustainability and food access at Pepperdine. He was action oriented and diplomatic and cared so deeply about justice and the health of our planet. He has left a lasting legacy through FRN

Jared representing at Pepperdine at National Food Recovery Network Conference 2019. Jared was very passionate about addressing food insecurity and diverting food waste. He put a lot of time and effort into our Food Recovery Network chapter.... he also never failed to make us laugh (I wish I could remember what he was saying when this photo was taken)
