Spending just a little time with Jared Lee’s colleagues and fellow Ombuds and hearing their stories of working with him was very special to Michelle and I.

Thank you California Caucus of College and University Ombuds for the recognition award to Jared Lee at the 50th Ombuds annual conference.

Michelle Lee and I were honored to accept the award on Jared’s behalf and your kind words on his contribution, his impact, and and his love for the field will continue to resonate in our hearts.

Thank you also for the Hawaiian lei/flower throwing, prayer, and beach “hui hou” (until we meet again) sharing of remembrances.

Michelle, Roger, Michaela, and Noelani,

It is with profound sorrow that we recently heard about the loss of your beloved son, Jared.  Our hearts are broken for you and the rest of your family and loved ones.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.  We hope the Lord holds you close in this time of unimaginable sadness and grief.

Our greatest sympathies,

Trish Rios Gibson and Mark McDonald

So sorry for your loss. I didn’t know Jared personally but I came across the obituary. Looks like he was a good human being and had a positive effect on his Family and friends. Loosing a loved one in death is very difficult to deal with. But Jared will always be remembered. Jehovah God promises that soon these tragedies will be done and away with. “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4) Please know that not a single tear drop of yours has gone unnoticed by Jehovah.
The meeting is on 12 October at 8:30 PM India Time which is 8 AM Pacific Daylight Time. 12 October is Omuds Day.
Jared participated in a number of my events. He was a wonderful person, a beautiful soul. It was a pleasure conversing with him. He always brought an interesting perspective. I've organised a meeting to remember and celebrate Jared.  Everyone's invited. Zoom link is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87682322152
Jared was a very caring and selfless person. Back in March of 2023 I told him that I had an interview where I had to give a 50 minute presentation on some research that I had done. Jared told me that I could give my speech in front of him if I needed the extra practice. I took him up on his offer and the Friday before my interview we met on zoom. He listened to me talk for 52 minutes about the dissertation that I wrote for my PhD in Math. Most people would have been bored out of their minds, but Jared took 2 page of notes, which he later texted me, and then gave me some pointers on my presentation skills. Three days later I had the interview and at the end of the month I was hired. I am very thankful that Jared took time out of his day to help and encourage me. I am reminded of the passage of Joseph in Genesis 39:3 - “the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all that he did prosper in his hand.” It seems that whatever Jared was involved in prospered and I am amazed at how much he accomplished in just 25 years. I will miss him, and his example of how to be a Christian will remain with me.
