One of my most memorable interactions with Jared that I believe exemplified his character happened after a cross country pasta feed. I'd stopped at a nearby park to train some parkour, and instead of driving by, Jared got out of his car, asked to see the move again, and within minutes was vaulting over the table. What really set Jared apart was his willingness to try new things. He was never just a bystander—on the contrary, he was always there to lend a helping hand or cheer on the sidelines. He put in the effort to include everyone, and his generosity and unique creativity made everything more meaningful, from cross country meets to sitting in a truck bed with Filippo and other Boys State delegates during the 4th of July parade (pictured). I knew Jared to be kind and was well loved by everyone. I got to know him over the three years we were in Leadership together at DVHS. He showed me and my fellow class officers the ropes when we were just freshman. I will remember him for his genuine leadership, kindness, and friendship. He did not seek attention or credit for his acts of service and always showed up. While I did not keep in close contact with Jared after high school, it is clear that he continued to bless all of those lucky enough to encounter him.
