Jared Lee Hempstead, 42, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023.  Jared was born on July 30, 1980, in Manchester, Iowa to Richard and Peggie Hempstead. He worked as Operations Manager for Ingredion. Prior to that, he worked for Collins Aerospace for over 20 years, where he made many lasting friendships. Jared held an unmatched work ethic, always striving towards new achievements, but no matter what he accomplished, he was always looking back to help the next person in line. Jared never missed an opportunity to help someone in need, doing so quietly and without seeking recognition. 

Time spent fishing at his cabin and with his family brought him great joy and he had a love of all animals. A talented singer, Jared had a beautiful voice and strong passion for music. Above all, Jared’s favorite thing in the world was to coach all four of his sons' baseball teams. Nothing brought him peace quite like the precious time he spent with them.

Jared is survived by his wife, Megan Hempstead of Cedar Rapids, IA; his four sons, Kyler Richard Hempstead, Kasen James Hempstead, William Cole Roelfs, and Owen West Roelfs, all of Cedar Rapids, IA; his parents, Richard and Peggie Hempstead; sister, Jamie Jo Hempstead of Manchester, IA; and brothers, Jeffery James Hempstead of Springville, IA, Justin Arden Hempstead of Maqouketa, IA, and Joseph Richard Hempstead and his wife, Lindsay, of Manchester, IA.
