Janis Faye McElhaney, 86, of Johnstown, Ohio, passed away on 15 October 2020 at home surrounded by her family after an extended illness.
Janis was the 4th child to be born to Roy Edwin Thompson Sr and Bessie Marie Acker in Pickaway County Ohio.
Janis worked at Big Bear Store in Waverly Ohio for many years and gained many friends during her time there.
In 1989 she was united in marriage to Paul McElhaney who preceded her in death.

Janis loved the country life and enjoyed watching the birds in her yard, shopping, playing games on her computer and taking photos.

Janis was predeceased by her husband Paul McElhaney, Her eldest Son David Cupps, Sisters Geneva, JoAnne, Susie and a baby sister Joyce, Brothers Roy Jr, Eugene, Larry, and James. Her Parents Roy and Bessie Thompson. She is survived by sons Steve (Diane) Cupps, Jamie (Melanie) Cupps, daughters Brenna Cupps and Sharon (David) Collins. Step-Son Paul (Crystal) McElhaney Jr and Step-Daughter Lorraine (Arlan) Weaver. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren with a great grand child on the way. A Sister Mary Jane (Richard) Fisher, Brothers Dan and Tom Thompson. Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations to be made to help with funeral costs.
