Janice's obituary
Janice Wynell Thomas, born on April 8, 1963, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025. She was the daughter of Estelle Reed Everett and Johnie Tolliver. She was preceded in death by both parents, her only granddaughter Eileeyna Erika Walters, her brother Frank Young, Jr, nephew Gerald Blackmon, Jr, and maternal grandmother Viola Carrington Gilstrap.
She leaves behind her husband of 33 years, Robert Marcellus Thomas, her only son Kenneth Ray Walters, III, oldest sister Doris Jean Jernigan, baby sister Viola Y. Barnes, devoted sister in law Deborah Wheeler-Robinson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a dear coworker/friend Pati Blake-Werner. She leaves behind many friends of the Guthrie High School, Class of 1981 in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
She attended Texas Southern University, in Houston, TX, majoring in Psychology. She was a published author of her book titled "The Strangest Thing".
She held great careers at American Fidelity Insurance and Tinker Air Force Base in the Facilities Department for several years.
A woman of radiating kindness, Janice devoted her life to spreading love, hope and cheer to all around her. She was an exceptional individual who touched the lives of many.
Her absence will be profoundly felt. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts, a beacon of her enduring spirit, comfort, and positivity.
As we mourn the loss of Janice, we also celebrate her remarkable life and the light she left behind full of laughter, good food, great music and pure joy. She loved her Father God and savior Jesus Christ.
The beautiful moments and memories crafted with her will forever be cherished and remembered.
The family will release Janice into the ocean on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Newport Beach, Newport, CA at 10:00 a.m.
