Janice Marie Summers of Yanceyville N.C., died unexpectedly on April 7th, 2022 from tragic car accident . She was only 80 years old. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by her sudden death. Janice was born on July 7 1942, attended Bartlett Yancey High School, and lived in Yanceyville for most of her life. Janice was a small farm owner -- she owned and operated Evan Farm in Yanceyville  for over 50 years. Farming and fishing  was Janice’s pride, joy, and life's work. She poured her heart and soul into the business which showed to all customers and patrons. She spent much of her free time raising her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She love listening to country music and watching NASCAR and baseball. She was also the neighborhood big mama.

Everyone who knew Janice knew how loving and free spirited she was. Janice  was full of light joy, positivity, traits that were obvious to all after even just a single meeting with Janice . Janice is survived by three sons: Ray Jr. Hightower, Wilbert T.  Hightower, Ronald J. Hightower all of Burlington, NC. 1 daughter Jasmine P. Hightower- Moore of Winston Salem. 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and an abundance of friends. We will miss her more than words can say. Visitation will be held at the family home April 14, 2022 from 3:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. Service will be April 15, 2022 2:00 p.m. at the family home as well.
